All mobile manufacture companies make a continuous struggle to produce batteries with bigger capacity and more energy savings. But for sure you can do additionally effort to extend battery life. Following few tricks can help you to save laptop batteries a longtime:
- Keep your laptop in a warmer, dry place. If the place is cool there is a 50% more discharge of the battery even when not in use.
- Disable WLAN, LAN, blue-tooth when not in use.
- Disable Aero themes in Windows 7.
- Use classic themes.
- Avoid using external drives or CD/DVD drives.
- Prefer flash drives to CD/DVD.
- Reduce the brightness of LCD screen.
- Use headphones of speakers.
- Do not charge the battery when the battery is full ,charge only when the battery is low.
- Keep only necessary files in the hard disk because with the larger number of files indexing takes a lot of time.
- Defragment your hard drives so that the load of the hard disk reduces in usage of more power.
- Clean the battery metal contacts.
- Do not play games or do not use software’s which use more resource.
