Yahoo shutdown services
By Detector | 17 December 2010
After recent dismissals of employees in Yahoo in order to reduce costs and change the strategy, it intends to shutdown and several services. Dismissals were just in the departments of products that Yahoo plans to shut down, and the company’s spokeswoman Dana Lengkeek said that it is necessary to focus on the main business and finance of new projects.
The company will shutdown services that operate poorly or not within the core business, and among them are Delicious, Yahoo Buzz, Upcoming and AltaVista search engines. Some other services that still will remain operational will be integrated into existing services.
