Sony has announced the official launch of the PlayStation applications for Android and iOS (iPad, iPhone, Android). In version 1.0 users will be able to access the PlayStation Network, and be updated with the activities and status of their online friends.

Also, the application will offer the possibility of discovering the past games, news and accessories for the PSP, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation3, and the ability to share information through Facebook, Twitter or e-mail.

The first version of the application will be available in the UK, France, Germany and several other European countries. Sony already works on the next version which will be available in most European countries, in several languages.
