By Detector | 17 May 2010

If you migrate from Windows XP or Vista to Windows 7, you have noticed that windows explorer default open path is set to Libraries. That’s unusual for XP and Vista users, so if you accessing to different partitions or hard disk you must use the left explorer panel and do that with few additional clicks. With the next easy tutorial you can easily change your default open path to (My) Computer:

  1. First close your explorer windows and then holding down the Shift key, right-click on the Explorer icon and select Properties.
  2. On Shortcut tab, change target to (copy/paste the line below):
  3. %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /E,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

  4. Click OK. Now when you click on Windows Explorer icon, the default open path is set to (My) Computer.
