The Fastest Hard Disk on the World – Sun Flashfire

Sun claims that they have the fastest network disk system FlashFire. It is a 2TB capacity device that is mounted in a standard network racks, and according to the official statement the speed is 1.6 million operation in reading and 1.2 million in writing per second. More impressive is the speed of data transfer which is 12.8 GB/s.
At this moment the only competitor of Sun is RamSan-440 from Texas Memory Systems that provides bandwidth of “only” 4.5 GB/s.
