Palm Released the Source Code of a WebOS
By Detector | 24 June 2009
Palm has released the source code of WebOS, an operating system that drives PalmPre (their long expected Smartphone recently put on sale).
WebOS is based on Linux (kernel 2.6.24, with more than 1000 changes, of which the majority refers to Pre’s ARM processor architecture and on the drivers written exclusively for the device, such as drivers for accelemeter). The company for this occasion opened the official web site at opensource.palm.com.
So, if you are developer interested to look inside of WebOS and offer your opinion and modifications, this is the chance. [via]
