OCR for iPhone with ABBYY Mobile OCR Engine 3.0
Abbyy announced that its Mobile OCR Engine 3.0 software development kit (SDK) Release 3 provide support for the Apple iPhone. Abbyy OCR technology converts images in text and documents that can be searched and edited eliminate the need for manual entering of information.
For example, the use of mobile camera with OCR application can get the card, clips from magazines, books, recipes, ads and other documents and automatically convert them into text that you can edit, store or send via e-mail or SMS.
Abbyy Mobile OCR SDK supports other mobile platforms like Windows Mobile, Symbian, iPhone and Android, so developers can use the same technology for the development of application for different platforms. Development package recognizes text in 58 languages, built-in dictionaries for business cards in 16 languages with a card formats for the appropriate language. [via]
