Google has announced that it will leave more or less unsuccessful projects like Google Video, Catalog Search, Google Notebook… Some are talking that the same could happen to Knol for very poor attendance, but it seems that Google, at least for now, have no such intention.

So, the company announced a competition for writing the best article on the Knol.

Subject of the article is not determined, but the article must be in the style of “how something works” (how-to), for example,” How to install Windows?” or “How to cook soup?”. Applications are already open, and 8th of May editors of Dummies.com will choose and announce the five finalists. These articles will be published on page Dummies.com, which normally contains articles of this type.

Winner will be rewarded with 1,000 U.S. dollars.
