How to disable "Your computer might be at risk" popup in Windows XP

By Detector | 10 January 2009

This message shows up on Windows XP SP2 and SP3 when you don’t have Antivirus program installed, and there is easy way to turn it off.

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel and choose Security Center.

2. From the right menu “Resources” choose Change the way Security Center alerts me.

3. From Alert Settings window uncheck the Virus Protection checkbox.

Now windows XP cannot monitor your antivirus software. Note that you need to have antivirus installed for full protection.

Thanks. I wanted to stop this message because of my firewall and automatic updates. I've installed firewall by another software and don't know why i was getting the message "No firewalls detected".
