Apple decided to release version of iWork’09 office application which does not need the serial number for installation. While manufacturers of software for PC protect their products using various measures which often give headache to legitimate customers, Apple choose completely opposite approach.

Apple explain: “If you are using the trial version of iWork ’09 and then purchase a retail box, you will not need a serial number. Install iWork from the disc that came with your retail box to begin using your fully-functional version of iWork ’09.” It is same as iLife, which is not protected also.

Serial codes will still be needed for unlocking trial versions of iWork, either supplied on new Macs or downloaded from apple.com/uk/iwork.
