Windows tip: Turn off the Firewall

Firewall is software that creates a barrier between computer and potentially danger content on the Internet. Itβs protecting computer from attacks by users and software such as computer viruses.
Disabling the firewall may help you executing applications that do not function as expected behind a firewall. If you want to turn off the firewall on your computer do next steps:
For Windows XP:
- Go to Start / Settings / Network Connections
- Right click on the network connection you want to change
- Select Properties
- Click on the Advanced tab
- Uncheck the box in Internet Connection Firewall
For Windows Vista:
- Click Start Orb
- Select Control Panel
- Click Security
- Select the Firewall option
