Wow. The desktop looks just outstanding.
Is that one of the default themes that comes with Jaunty? If not, what is it called and where can we get it? Looks great!
This is proposed Ubuntu theme by Will Williams named “Mockup” and you can found similar theme based on mockup on http://www.ubuntu-art.org/content/show.php/willibex?content=86844
Enjoy
Nice. I love using Ubuntu, tho I had some minor problems wiht 8.10…. So Im sticking with 8.04 for now, since its LTS and that usually works out better…
Any word of if this launch with be LTS? Usually the april launches are but, yea.. Any idea?
Anonymous – The LTS releases are only done every couple years. 6.06, 8.04, etc. We probably won’t see another LTS until 2010. So sorry.
So now Ubuntu is naming itself after mythical creatures? I guess that it goes along with Ubuntu’s mythical support for video hardware. (I’ve _never_ had an Ubuntu install correctly for _any_ video hardware and have _always_ had to tweak X.org. I’ve _seldom_ had this same problem with Debian, Suse, Fedora, or Red Hat.)
That’s pretty odd. I have installed ubuntu on around 6 different setups, ranging from old laptops to brand new desktops. Been installing and using ubuntu since around 6.04, and the only machine that had issues was a laptop with SLI, that with later versions of ubuntu, intalls just fine. For super easy proprietary graphics installs, use sudo ap-get install envyng-gtk to install envy. Then just run envyng -t in the terminal… pick your driver, install and its happy.
