More powerful Macs at the end of the year?

By Detector | 04 November 2008

After PowerBook upgrade, Apple has plans to upgrading iMac and little Mac Mini desktop computers. The rumors say that upgrades is ready for announce next week, but Apple spokesman Bill Evans refute that the new hardware announcement will be happen next week and will be delayed until end of the year or on next MacWorld.

In the future upgrade, the biggest changes are expected in graphics, same as PowerBook, new nVidia chipset 9400m and in high end models parallel graphic chip from nVidia 9000 series. Display port will be standard for all models.

Intel Core 2 Duo processors will be upgraded to X9100 (2,26 GHz), and the upper Macs can be upgraded to Core 2 Quad QX9100 and QX9300. The new Macs will have up to 4GB RAM, and hard drive from 350 to 500GB for cheap models and 750GB to 1TB for expensive ones. The rumors say that it will be price corrections, but we will wait for that info until official release.

But that was rumor for next week, so we can expect the new and upgraded Macs desktops with new Intel Core i7 processors and new advanced nVidia graphics, cause Intel already release new quad Core i7 processors based on code name core Nehalem.
